Mosquitos win Silver at OBAs
The Stratford Festival Furniture Mosquito Rep Team traveled to Welland for the OBA's.  

The Stratford Festival Furniture Mosquito Rep Team traveled to Welland for the OBA's.  Their first game was under the lights Friday night and they took on Kawartha. Taking the mound for Stratford was Brett Knechtel, Quinn Appel & Nolan Trainor.   Scoring for Stratford was Beckham McLeod, Quinn Appel, Max Harvey, Kieran Butler, Jack Buckley, Nolan Trainor, Nick Betto and Finn Stewart.  Great defensive plays by Brett Knechtel, Beckham McLeod, Noah McIlwain and Nick Betto.  They won their first OBA game 9-5. 

Saturday they played Bolton.  Taking the mound for Stratford was Andrew Leitch, Liam McEvoy & Nolan Trainor.  Nick Betto, Nolan Trainor and Beckham McLeod all hitting triples, and Beckham McLeod, Nolan Trainor, Noah Roth, Liam McEvoy & Kieran Butler all scoring for Stratford, making it a tight game. Unfortunately, Stratford fell short to Bolton with a 7-6 loss.

After a short break, Stratford took the field again to play LaSalle. Taking the mound was Finn Stewart and closing out the game was Noah Roth.   Beckham McLeod & Noah McIlwain both hit doubles followed by a number of walks. Stratford ended the game in 5 innings with a 13-1 mercy.

With another short breakStratford took the field again for the final game of the day to play Welland.  On the mound were Beckham McLeod, Liam McEvoy & Noah Roth.  The bats were strong for Stratford with Noah McIlwain hitting a double and Beckham McLeod with a home run and aggressive base running. Stratford stayed alive with a 16-12 win.

Sunday morning after a slight rain delay , Stratford took the field to play Woodstock in the semis.  Finn Stewart pitched a great first half of the game striking out 7 batters.  Max Harvey & Andrew Leitch both pulled off doubles and Beckham McLeod had his 2nd home run of the weekend!  Quinn Appel, and Andrew Leitch came in to relieve Stewart as pitchers.  Stratford won 11-6 and moved on to the finals.  

With a short break, Stratford had to take on the undefeated Bolton team again.  Taking the mound for Stratford was Quinn Appel & Andrew Leitch.   Batting strong for Stratford were Andrew Leitch, Nick Betto, Brett Knechtel, Beckham McLeod, Jack Buckley, Noah McIlwain, Nolan Trainor, Noah Roth, Quinn Appel and Finn Stewart with a triple. Stratford beat Bolton 17-4 in 6 innings, staying alive once again. 

Stratford had to take on Bolton one more time in the OBA Championship game.   Noah McIlwain, Finn Stewart, Liam McEvoy, Andrew Leitch all had strong bats while Beckham McLeod hit another double. Kieran Butler took the mound for his second time this season pitching a great couple of innings, and Nick Betto made his debut pitching for Stratford, also pitching great. Stratford fell short, losing to Bolton 18-4. 

Stratford played their hearts out all weekend, having 7 games in less than 48 hours.  They are very proud to finish the season strong by bringing home the silver medal.
