Minor Peewee's Peewee World Series "AA' Finalists
The Brame Electric Minor Peewee's made the finals of the Cambridge Peewee World series this past weekend. In the first game of round robin play Friday night the Nationals defeated the Halton Hills Eagles 16-1 in 4 innings of play. The game was stopped in the bottom 4th as Stratford exploded for 8 runs with only one out forcing the 15 run mercy.
On Saturday morning Stratford faced off against rival Cambridge Cubs. Stratford fell behind early but a solid team effort helped them come back and cruise by the Cubs 10-5. In the final game of round robin The Nat's faced off against Mississauga Majors. After taking an early lead the Majors came back to tie it late 7-7. In a gutsy 6th inning Stratford took the lead and held on for a big 9-7 win. In semi final action the Nat's came out swingin' easily defeating the Royal York Cardinals 11-3 setting up a heavy weight tilt in the finals against the Peterborough Tigers. In a back and forth affair Stratford took a 4-1 lead into the 4th but just could not hold back the heavy hitting Tigers as the fell 9-5 in a terrific 7 inning baseball game. That's The Minor Peewee's second trip to tournament finals this season and was truly a team performance.
