Same Day Auto Bantam Tier 1 Edge Cubs in Rain Shortened Tilt
Despite the strong threat of rain for game time and throughout the evening and a suggestion to the home team that the game be postponed, the Same Day Auto Major Bantam tier 1 team travelled to Cambridge on Wednesday evening and came home with a rain shortened four inning 5-3 victory in Inter County action..

Naoto Fujita pitched three strong innings for the Nationals to pick up the W limiting the Cubs to two runs on three hits while striking out three. Ethan Boersma pitched a gutsy fourth inning through a steady rain and when the men in blue called the game 20 minutes later the save became his.
Stratford opened the scoring in the first when David Hynd hit a clutch two out single to plate Boersma who had walked earlier in the inning. After the Cubs tied the game in the bottom of the second the Nats responded big time in the top of the third. Fujita led off with a double followed by a Boersma walk. Carter Musselman promptly doubled down the right field line to score Fujita and than with two out Nathan Graff smacked a single to left centre to score both Boersma and Musselman giving the Nats a 4-1 lead. Fujita knocked in Carter Stock for the fifth Stratford run an inning later.
Solid D by the visitors kept the Cambridge damage to single runs in the third and fourth innings before mother nature took over and secured the victory for the Nationals.
