The Same Day
Auto Major Bantam tier 1 rep team split a pair of low scoring games Monday
night at National Stadium in Inter County tier 1 baseball action.
In the opener Nathan Graff knocked in David Hynd with the winning run with two out in the bottom of the 8th inning allowing the home side to win in walk off fashion; a strategic hook slide from Hynd just enough to evade the catcher’s tag in a 3-2 win over Brantford. 4th inning RBI’s by Hynd and Graff erased a 1-0 visitor lead and put the Nats up 2-1 only to see Brantford tie the game in the top of the 5th. Camden Daigle, Ethan Boersma, Carter Musselman, Kyle Powers and Carter Stock also had hits for the winning side. On the bump Boersma and Carter Musselman stymied the Red Sox hitters all night allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out nine.
Cambridge came to town for the night cap and in a game that saw stellar pitching from both sides the visiting Cubs came away with a 1-0 victory. Carter Musselman and Daigle combined to allow the one earned run on three Cub base hits, striking out 11 and walking seven. Stock had the only two hits for the Nats. The split leaves the Nats record at 13-8 on the year currently good enough for 2nd place in the Bantam tier 1 loop.
