Same Day Auto Bantams Ousted in OBA Semis
The Same Day Auto Major Bantam tier 1 team had the tying and winning run in scoring position in the bottom of the 7th inning on Sunday but came up empty handed bowing out in the semi-final of the B OBA Championships losing 2-1 to host Leamington..

Holding a 1-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 5th inning the Nats loaded the bases with one out only to come away empty handed and watch Leamington score two in the top of the sixth to take the lead. Cam Daigle was brilliant on the bump for Stratford giving up two earned runs on just five Laker hits while striking out three in going the distance. A Nathan Graff single to lead of the bottom of the seventh and walks to Tyler Hotson and Kyle Powers loaded the bases but the defending OBA B Champs were unable to bring the tying run across. Hotson also singled for Stratford and knocked in a run, Carter Stock and Caleb Musselman singled and David Hynd walked and scored.
Earlier Sunday Ethan Boersma went five plus innings against St. Thomas allowing one run on three hits leading the Nats to a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals. Carter Musselman allowed one run on two hits over the final two frames to close this one out and send the Nats to the semis. Graff singled and knocked in a run, Caleb Musselman singled twice and scored, Daigle and Carter Musselman both had a hit and scored a run while Boersma chipped in with a single.
Stratford opened the tournament with a first round bye opening up the second round with a 3-2 win over eventual champion Tillsonburg.  Boersma and Carter Musselman allowed just four hits and struck out six in this one. Caleb Musselman, Graff, Hotson and Powers all had hits for the winners while Erik Smith and Naoto Fujita both reached base and scored on a Daigle double.
Round three saw the Nats face off against Leamington in the undefeated game. Stratford bats were quiet in this one as two Laker hurlers combined to toss a no hitter in a 4-0 Laker win.  Daigle and Fujita combined to allow four earned runs on nine Laker hits while striking out 4.
The staff would like to congratulate the boys on an excellent season, participating in three tournament finals between ICBA tier 1 and A tournaments and finishing with an overall record of 26-16.
