18U Tier 1 Nats off to ICBA Championship Game
The shorthanded 18U Nats went to Hamilton Sunday for the deciding game of their best of three semi final with the Hamilton Cardinals..
The Nats used a 3 run top of seventh inning to build a 5-1 lead and after Hamilton chipped away in the bottom of the seventh, the Nats recorded a ground out and fly ball out to secure a 5-4 victory with the tying and winning run on base for the home side.
On Saturday the Nats lost a close 3-2 decision to the Cardinals. Stratford went ahead 2-1 in the top of the eighth only to see Hamilton score two in the bottom half to walk off the visitors and tie the series forcing the deciding game on Sunday.
The 18U tier 1 Nationals will now play at Guelph Monday night (Aug 23) in a one game winner take all ICBA Championship tilt versus the Royals. Game time at Guelph Hastings Stadium is 730pm.
