It was a great night for baseball on Wednesday and the U10 Nationals matched the weather with their effort.
Hayes Francis got the call on the mound in the teams opening game and went 4 innings, striking out 7, walking 3 and giving up 6 runs. The team was sparked by Cam Gibsons single in the first inning that plated the games 1st run and the team didn't look back from there. Francis helped his own cause with a double at the plate in the 3rd inning and Easton Mathieson was a spark plug reaching base in all 4 at bats and scoring 4 runs to go along with his 1 RBI. The defence was led by some stellar plays by both Grayson Degroot at 3rd and Gibson at short. Kohen McLeod and Randell Everett both contributed 2 hits and it was Carson Schenk with 2 RBI in his first rep game last night, the team is now off till Saturdays exhibition game with Dorchester.
