Rookie Tourney a Success for SMBA
SMBA hosted a Major Rookie tournament at Dufferin and Optimist parks over the weekend and despite a few thunder delays the tournament wrapped up on schedule with Essex beating Erindale 3-1 in a very well played final game...
Host Stratford coached by Kyle Priestap recorded a 1-2 round robin record with the two losses coming against the championship game contenders. We received several complimentary comments on the job done by both our young umpires and the setup of our tournament made possible by our volunteers from both the executive and the host Rookie team. Additional thanks to Don Grasby and Jeff Keller for being at the parks most of the weekend to help things run smoothly.
