SMBA Summertime Bash on Weekend
Early signs indicate that the SMBA run Summertime Bash Slo-Pitch tournament (formerly the Hitmen Tournament) was a success over the weekend..
Despite some late afternoon rain on Sunday and a one hour delay games were moved around in order to finish each division with the last championship game ending around 8pm Sunday evening.
A huge thank you to Laurie Uniac for once again taking the lead on making sure everything was done to make the weekend a go.
Also thank you to;
Steve and Anne Vaters and Heike Reiche for being there all weekend to help look after pavilion activities, scheduling, score recording and sign installation and removal; Don Grasby for helping make sure the umpires were on each of the five diamonds for each time slot; Jeff Carr from Molson for donating several great items for the weekend auction and to everyone else that donated items; To all of the volunteer coaches, parents and players that umpired anywhere from two to eight games on the weekend, this is a huge cost avoidance; and to all of the team parent and player volunteers that showed up for their two hour stints of selling drink tickets, running the bar and keeping the park clean.
Thanks again to everyone that helped out...
