SMBA Mega Tourney a Huge Success on Weekend..
Submitted By Dave Graff on Monday, June 18, 2018
The Dunnys Source for Sports Minor Mosquitos beat Essex 14-3 in the Championship game of the SMBA Jack Grasby Memorial tournament on the weekend while the Rheo Thompson Major Mosquitos fell 21-14 to Clarington in the Championship final...

The weekend tournament played predominately at the Packham Road facility received overwhelming positive feedback from several of the visiting teams with the concession booth and BBQ on site providing refreshments and food all weekend. The All-Equip Jr Rookie team from Stratford won one game and lost two failing to advance to Sunday play.  A special thanks to everyone that helped out on the weekend with single game convening and to the young umpires that did a great job all weekend. SMBA would specifically like to thank;

Steve Culliton and Core Fuels for donating the propane required to run the BBQ for the weekend.

SMBA director and Umpire in Chief Barry Grasby for scheduling and facilitating the umpires for the weekend and for convening the majority of the Rookie tournament.

SMBA treasurer Jeff Keller for convening the majority of the Mosquito division games and helping fill gaps when needed with the Rookie tournament.

Doreen Grasby for donating the Rawlings baseball mitt for the MVP of the Championship game in the Jack Grasby Memorial Minor Mosquito tournament - awarded to Reed Bowles.

Thank you to all out of town teams for their participation this weekend.
