Minor Peewees stamp ticket to OBA championships
The Sun Life Financial Minor Pee Wee T2 team hosted the Woodstock Wranglers at Dufferin Park in game 3 of their OBA Playoff last Tuesday night. Reid Gerber was on the hill for the Nationals and pitched a two hit, 8 strikeout game to keep the Woodstock bats quiet. The Nationals picked away with solid hitting from Blake Hodgson, Colin Slattery, Brenden Sippel and Nathan Siebert in the first couple innings taking a 5-0 lead. In the third inning the Stratford bats exploded with doubles from Hodgson and Aaron Green and a triple from Zach Schultz to push the lead to 15-0. Gerber finished the job in the top of the fourth and K’d the final batter to punch the Nationals ticket to the OBA’s Labor Day weekend in Halton Hills.
