We are monitoring this situation closely, and please be assured that if we have any updates we will share them as soon as we get them.

The City of Stratford has notified SMBA that all diamonds in Stratford will be closed until May 31st, and could still change yet.

UPDATE FROM OBA AS OF MAY 24TH:

Baseball Ontario remains committed to the safety of the baseball community. While the COVID-19 situation remains fluid, we are continuing to monitor the situation so that we can plan, prepare and respond accordingly.

At this time and based on the guidelines of the provincial government and public health authorities, the suspension of all in-person baseball programs remains in effect through June 15, 2020.

Check out our President's Update 3 part video series (May 24, 2020)

We will be providing an update on the work the Safe Sport Committee is doing to prepare return to train/return to play guidelines for our May 27th edition of the Inside Pitch.

The return to baseball can begin once municipal and provincial regulations permit the resumption of baseball activities. These requirements will differ from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so it is important that everyone be well versed on the local directives as they take priority over any recommendation or guidelines from Baseball Ontario. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.

UMPIRES CLICK HERE

LL IN-PERSON CLINICS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED

All certification for umpires will move to online for the remainder of 2020.

Level 1 and 2 Umpires will complete online E-learning modules. Level 2 is READY to GO!  Level 1 will be ready by April 15.

APPLYING FOR A CLINIC AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

  • In the mean time, Local associations will apply to host a clinic like they did in 2019, if they haven't already
  • Umpires will register for their association's clinic (same as they did last year)
  • Once the Local Association is confident that their umpires are registered, they will let Baseball Ontario know, and Baseball Ontario will provide a login and password to the umpires to complete the online e-learning modules.
  • Just as in 2019, Baseball Ontario will reconcile the clinic, applying the host deposit against the fees incurred for the umpires who complete the training (fees listed below).
  • The host will be responsible for collecting the fees from their umpires directly, if you choose to do so, as you would have in 2019.

LEVEL 3 UMPIRES

  • Level 3 Umpires will write the exam (just like they did in 2019)... Exam is available now, and payments already received for SuperClinics will be transferred.

WHAT IF I WAS ALREADY REGISTERED FOR AN IN-CLASS SESSION

  • If you were registered for an upcoming in-person clinic, you should have already received an email from the Baseball Ontario office with your options to move to an online clinic.

  • If you haven't yet, please email us to get your registration updated to an online clinic ([email protected])

OPEN FOR REGISTRATION

  • We are now populating https://nccp.baseball.ca/ with online clinics open for registration.

  • Please create/login to your profile on the site to register for a clinic

  • Clinics will be added based on demand

  • Keep an eye on the site, or email us if you don't see the module(s) you are looking for.

ADOBE CONNECT - TIPS

  • You must login on a computer.  A tablet or cell phone will not allow for the use of all the tools that will be implemented as part of the training.

  • The room will be open about 1/2 hour prior to the clinic start time.  Please login early to ensure you have the plugin installed and your mic and speakers are working. (Link for specific clinic will be sent after you register)
