Three Weekend Tournament Wins for SMBA Teams
Three SMBA teams brought home tournament gold this past weekend in area tournaments...
The 11U Nationals were in the Dorchester Summer Slam event beating Aylmer 12-2 in final game.. congratulations to Jamie Antonio, Corey Goebel and the rest of the staff and players!!
The 14U Nationals participated in the London Trevor Barton Memorial tournament thumping Ancaster 9-0 in the championship tilt... congratulations to Kyle Priestap and his staff and players. Well done!!!
Finally in Stratford the 18U Nationals compiled a 5-1 record as the host team, winning three games on Sunday to take home the gold. A 4-1 win over the AA London West Tincaps in the final was a very impressive win for these lads. Congratulations to Mike Reid and his staff and players. Well done fellas!!
A mention of thanks to Mark Hall, Mike Reid and Erin Trainor for arranging diamond coverage for the weekend, Steve Vaters and Barry Grasby for their diamond upkeep throughout the weekend, Mike Gould for helping with diamonds and umpiring ten ball games and all of the other umpires that did a game or five!!! It's very satisfying to see these kids playing in ball tournaments all over the area again after not having any for a few years!!!
