14U Win Stratford Tourney, 15U Come Close
The SMBA 14U Nationals won the Keith Aitcheson tournament over the weekend while the 15U Nats were runner up...
The 14U led by Kyle Priestap and staff beat Lasalle 12-1 in Sunday's final at the Stadium. Earlier on Stratford beat Markham, Newmarket and Collingwood in the semi-finals.
The 15U Nats led by Scott Siebert and staff went 4-0 with wins over North London, Sarnia, Burlington and Windsor to get to the championship tilt. Unfortunately North London exacted revenge on our home team with a 7-1 victory.
Congrats to both teams on a great weekend.
Also, and I'm sure I'll forget someone here but a big thanks to Kyle and Emily Priestap for assisting with SERC on Saturday and to all the parents that helped convene a game or two. Thanks too to our grounds guys Steve Vaters, Barry Grasby and Mike Gould, all of our over worked umpires, to Shannon Johnson for manning the booth all weekend and to Mud, Sue and family for running the raffle ticket table to raise money for SMBA.
