Stratford National's Festival Furniture Mosquito Rep team travelled to Mitchell for a tournament this past weekend.
Their first game was against Lucan-Ilderton Friday night under the lights. Scoring for Stratford was Jack Buckley, Brett Knechtel, Finn Stewart, Nolan Trainor, Andrew Leitch, Kieran Butler, Noah McIlwain. Also scoring for Stratford with doubles were Nick Betto, Liam McEvoy and Max Harvey. Pitching for Stratford was Nolan Trainor and closing out the game was Kieran Butler. Great Catches By Kieran Butler, Andrew Leitch in the outfield, Noah McIlwain on 3rd and Max Harvey Catching. Final Score was 17-2 for the Festival Furniture team.
Saturday morning Stratford took on Tilsonburg. Pitching for Stratford was Liam McEvoy and Andrew Leitch. Scoring for Stratford was Noah McIlwain, Nolan Trainor, Quinn Appel, , Noah Roth, Jack Buckley, Finn Stewart, as well as Kieran Butler, Liam McEvoy, Max Harvey, and Andrew Leitch all hitting doubles and Nick Betto hammering out a triple. Final Score 18-4 for Stratford.
Stratford took on Mitchell Saturday evening. Scoring for Stratford was Max Harvey, Liam McEvoy and Nick Betto, Andrew Leitch, Finn Stewart all hitting Doubles. Stratford fell short 15-7
Stratford played in the semifinals on Sunday morning against Dorchester. Stratford fought hard and played a great game with Noah Roth, Kieran Butler, Brett Knechtel, Max Harvey, Andrew Leitch who all scored. Noah Mcilwain brought in 2 runs with a double, Liam McEvoy laid down a sacrificed bunt to score Kieran Butler from 1st base. Out in Left field Kevin Pillar…. I mean Quinn Appel made an amazing diving catch. Unfortunately Stratford fell short one run to carry on to the finals. Final Score 9-8
