Same Day Auto Bantams Split a Recent Pair of Games
The Same Day Auto Major Bantams maintained their two game over 500 clip in Inter County Major Bantam tier 1 action running their record to 7-5 after playing just two league games over the last several days..
Monday night in Stratford a bases loaded walk by Erik Smith in the bottom of the 7th inning brought in Ethan Boersma with the winning run giving the Nationals a 6-5 win over first place Waterloo.
Stratford jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead when after a couple of walks and a Carter Musselman single, David Hynd hit a towering two bagger to clear the bases and put the Nats up 3-0. Nathan Graff also knocked in one for the home side while Boersma doubled, Hynd added a second hit and Carter Stock singled. Cam Daigle went six solid innings on the bump allowing just two earned runs on 5 Tiger hits while striking out seven. Boersma struck out the side in the top of the seventh to pick up the W.
Last week in Brantford the Nationals faced a hard thrower from the home town Red Sox succumbing to the big lefty 7-1. Carter Musselman, Michael Pauli and Daigle pitched well for the visitors with six of the seven Sox runs coming on errors and wild pitches. A Kyle Powers single broke up the no hitter and Daigle later tripled off a Sox reliever to account for the two Stratford hits on the night.
